WHAT IS EPDM?
EPDM is a rubber sheet that is applied to the roof. There is no heat involved in the installation, which makes it very safe. Any joins that need to be made for irregular shaped roofs, are as waterproof as the rubber sheet itself. It can be covered with rounded stones, for a roof, flagstones for a pathway, or decking for a rooftop garden.

So long as the deck can withstand more weight you can even use an EPDM Rubber roof as a garden or you can install paving or decking over it. WHAT DOES EPDM MEAN?
Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer. This is a waterproof rubber sheeting that is adhered to the roof. It can be cut to shape and can fit around pipes, roof windows or any other protrusions.

CAN I WALK ON MY NEW ROOF?
Yes, it is designed for maintenance access. It can also be covered with decking, flag stones, rounded stones for roof gardens, or other features.

WHAT IF MY ROOF IS AN ODD SHAPE?

The EPDM Rubber is supplied as large sheets which can be cut to any shape. Any join that may be needed is as waterproof as the rest of the rubber sheet. It is a chemical seal, not just glued together, which ensures that the whole roof remains waterproof. IS AN EPDM FLAT ROOF EXPENSIVE? No. Despite its considerable technical and lifespan advantages, EPDM roofs compare very well indeed to traditional materials.

HOW IS THIS PRODUCT ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE?
Apex's rubber roofing lasts longer than traditional materials. This means that it needs to be replaced less often. When it does eventually need to be replaced, it is recyclable - thus making it a more efficient product. In addition, there are no heat treatments used on the roof as there would be with traditional materials. This means that it is safer to install, and uses less energy.
